How your queue is built
- The pool we apply from: jobs that are still open (not reaped) and have a semantic embedding — the exact same set our apply-bot draws from. Scanner runs across 11 ATS providers every ~30 min.
- Sponsorship gate (strict): we only queue jobs whose posting employer appears in USCIS H-1B records with at least one approved petition. Matched on exact normalized name (upper + trim), so suffixed variants (“Google LLC” vs “GOOGLE INC”) may not join. The number skews conservative — a company with no filing history is dropped even if the job description claims they sponsor.
- Role presets: each preset maps to one or more tech-stack buckets our scanner tags inline during Haiku scoring. Backend Engineer, for example, spans python-general, java-jvm, golang, rust, dotnet, ruby, and php — the common server-side stacks on H-1B-filing employers.
- Titles: clicking a title narrows the queue to that exact raw title. Variants (“Senior Software Engineer” vs “Sr. Software Engineer”) are not aliased — pick multiple when needed.
- Wage percentiles: computed over certified LCA filings matching the preset’s SOC codes nationally. Not city-scoped on this page; see /visa-sponsors/[role]/[city] for metro-specific wages.
- Seniority: matched case-insensitive across common phrasings (Sr., L3, L4 for Senior; Staff, Lead, L5 for Staff; etc). Varies by posting; broaden your bucket if the number looks low.
- Queue health: “high” ≥100 jobs, “medium” ≥20, otherwise “low.” A low queue usually means your filter combination is narrow, not that the market is empty — broaden one filter to see what else fits.
